CENTRE FOR STRATEGIC ANALYSES

This Centre is a joint working place of CETIP – Centre for Trans-disciplinary Study of Institutions, Evolution and Policies and SPECTRA. Centre focused on strategic decision making. The activities of the SPETRA Centre in this context are concentrated on the research in the field of urban governance and together with CETIP on trans-disciplinary research in the field of institutional, behavioural and ecological economics. 

This Centre has emerged as the product of  successful colaboration under the project SPECTRA + Centre of Excellence for the Settlement Infrastructure Development of the Knowledge Based Society  and  Centre for Trans-disciplinary Study of Institutions, Evolution and Policies (CETIP). Recently this Centre  become join activity of the Slovak University of Technology and Slovak Academy of Sciences with colaboration of CETIP Network.

Main objective is to concentrate on novel approaches to strategic decision making under the complexity and uncertainty in particular in global environmental changes and urban governance and on trans-disciplinary research in the field of institutional, behavioural and ecological economics.  CETIP and SPECTRA have established the Virtual Laboratory of Experimental Social Sciences (VEEL). One of the key purpose of VEEL lab is to create a platform for research and teaching in the field of soft urban governance modes. Existence of local laboratory of experimental social sciences creates opportunity to expand region specific research projects, attract attention of young scholars to expand their carrier in their home country and contribute to the cost effective operation.

CETIP and SPECTRA have established the Virtual Experimental Economic Laboratory (VEEL). One of the key purpose of VEEL lab is to create a platform for research and teaching in the field of soft urban governance modes. Existence of local experimental economic laboratory creates opportunity to expand region specific research projects, attract attention of young scholars to expand their carrier in their home country and contribute to the cost effective operation. The first official test of the lab took place on June 8, 2011. Testing subjects were postgradute students from Institute of Management, Slovak University of Technology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University and researchers from Institute for Forecasting, Slovak Academy of Sciences.

 

PROJECTS

  • Urban innovation network– is an international networking project supporting the collaboration of STU, TU Wien, CVUT Prague, and 6 other universities in the field of know how transfer and innovation development with special focus on urban environment. This project is supported by the CEEPUS initiative of the EU.
